Welcome

We give you a warm welcome from Grace Holiness Church (since 1978) in Harkers Island, North Carolina. Come and worship with us, hear the Harkers Island trio sing, and enjoy the southern hospitality of our friendly congregation.  Whether you’ve lived here for generations or are new to the area, you’re welcome among us.

In our lives, storms will come. But we are called to stand on the Rock, and place our faith in the Captain of the Seas. The goal of this church is to be a lighthouse to those who are lost, and a beacon to those searching for something more. We are shining brightly for a dark world to see the hope of a Savior.

About Us

We truly believe in the power of God’s grace. We hold dear the message that Jesus loves you, no matter who you are or where you come from. Our mission is to love God, love people, proclaim God’s Word, and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

We love our community, especially the wonderful folks of Harkers Island and the Down East area. We help serve alongside other community initiatives and still believe “It is more blessed to give than to receive”. We are called to be THE CHURCH.

We are proud hosts of the Crystal Coast IHC. The Crystal Coast Interchurch Holiness Convention is held annually for three days beginning the Tuesday before the last Sunday in June.

If you’re tired of the way this world is going and feel like you need something more to live for, the source of life is still Jesus! No matter who you are or what you’ve done, you are WELCOME HERE.

Beliefs

WE BELIEVE that God is the eternal, omnipotent, and triune Being; Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; That this triune God created the Heavens and the earth, and all that in them is, visible and invisible; That He sustains, protects, and governs these with gracious regard for the welfare of man to the glory of His Name.

We believe that God, the Father, through the gift of His only begotten Son, provided redemption for man lost through the fall of Adam; That Christ, the Son was conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary; That He was crucified, died, and was buried; That He rose again, ascended to the Father; and that he became the Saviour of the world through the merits of His atoning blood.

We believe that the Holy Ghost reproves the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He seals, empowers, comforts, and guides the believer.

We believe that the Holy Bible, the Old and the New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, and that it is the final authority for faith and practice.

We believe that the work of Calvary is made effective to the believer through justification (forgiveness of committed sin),and the sanctification (heart cleansing and empowerment); and that the work of grace thus wrought in the heart will effect a transformation of life and practice.

We believe that the general ordinances, namely believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper, are enjoined in the Word of God and should be observed in church life and practice.

We believe that the Scripture teaches that Christians should not be conformed to this world; that they should demonstrate the spirit of Christian love; that, subject to a prior loyalty to the Word of God, it is their duty to be obedient to the government under which they live, and that through their testimony and conduct they should be constant and effective witness for their Lord.

We believe that the second coming of Christ is imminent and will be pre-millennial; that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust; that life eternal is the gift of the righteous, but that everlasting punishment is reserved for the wicked.

We believe that the supreme duty and mission of the Church during this dispensation is world-wide evangelization in obedience to the Great Commission of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our Pastor

Pastor Plank, originally from central Pennsylvania, interned at the Church with Pastor Curtis Going in 2018. He graduated from college in May 2020 and married his wife Sarah, who is from Hobe Sound, FL, on December 31, 2020. Pastor Jamison pastored in the state of Iowa until 2024, and while new to the area, he and Sarah feel honored to serve the Harkers Island and Down East community. They look forward to seeing you soon!
